In addition to a limited-run First Edition, the Mach E will be available in four trims: Select, California Route 1, Premium and GT. Ford says it’s targeting 332 hp and 417 pound-feet of torque from the base version of the five-seater. The GT performance edition is expected to boast 459 hp, 612 pound-feet of torque and a 0-to-60 time of 3.5 sec.

Ford’s Mustang Mach E Combines Heritage, Style & Power
As explained by Ford’s Dave Pericak at a media preview, “What was important to us as a company as we introduce our first real ground-up EV, was that we do it in a way that no one else could do it,”.
“No one else can do a Mustang. And the EV is where the future is at; when you look at the regulations that are upon us from the government and everything else that we must deal with, we’re not going to meet those regulations if we don’t figure out a way how not to rely entirely on internal combustion engines.”
The result is a masterpiece combining heritage, style and power.
The 2021 Ford Mach E is an aerodynamic combination of power and eco-awareness, reached by combining the benefits of virtual testing combined with rigorous physical testing.
Ford considers the Mach-E to be a true Mustang SUV, not a Mustang-inspired SUV. Mustang owners worldwide will agree with this subtle, but critical distinction. The Mach-E’s standard 76-kWh battery will provide 240 miles of EPA range. A 99-kW extended-range battery pack also will be available, delivering over 300 miles of EPA range in rear-wheel-drive (RWD) models.
One thing’s guaranteed: This new electric Mustang SUV will be one fast pony. With the extended range battery, the all-wheel-drive Mach-E will produce 346 horsepower and 428 lb-ft of torque.

The Ford Mustang Generation grew up amidst the roar of V8 engines. Even so, as they evolve to recognize the need to move away from fossil fuels, they are embracing the shift towards the silence created by zero emissions.
That said, driving any Mustang is a sensory experience. So, ingenious Ford engineers spent considerable time and research to develop just the right “Mustang” sound for the Mach-E that wasn’t just a straight V8 burble. The result created was a futuristic solution, a perfect fit for a Mach E.
While traditional electric motors are pretty close to silent, Mustang Mach E drivers can suit their moods by selecting between Whisper, Engage and Unbridled modes.
Depending on which drive mode you’re in, pressing the throttle delivers a subtle-yet-noticeable growl both inside and outside the car.
It’s loudest in Unbridled mode – the liveliest drive setting for the Mach-E – and it’s completely quiet in Whisper mode as one would expect.

Plug In and Charge Past the Gas Pump
Ford produces the battery packs with pouch-style lithium-ion cells from LG Chem.
The pouches are secured inside a waterproof case surrounded by crash-absorption material.
For more performance and better charging, the battery packs are liquid-cooled.
According to FORD the standard pack, has 288 cells. The larger battery pack, which weighs a substantial 1,280 pounds, has 376 individual cells.
Charging your vehicle is as easy as plugging in the FORD Mobile charger (which comes standard with your vehicle) in a 120V or 240V wall outlet.
Or, for a faster solution, install an available charging station at home. The WiFi and Bluetooth enabled charge station is user-friendly. It includes a 20ft lightweight cord, ergonomically designed handle and a dedicated coupler dock that lets you store cable and coupler near your vehicle’s charge port.
Fast and flexible, your personal station is designed with up to 8 amps (11.5KW), offers adjustable power levels to enable compatibility with your home electrical system, and has a weatherproof design for indoor or outdoor installation.
Tracking your charging? True to the Mach E’s tech age nature, there is an app for that. FordPass(TM) app can monitor your charging progress, set charging schedules, locate charging stations near you, determining if it is a DC fast charger.

The Green in Green
Monetary Incentives to Go Green Gas mileage has often been a consideration when purchasing any vehicle. Considering that the average driver can save about $1,800 per year on fuel costs, the shift towards E transportation is logical. Originally, the concern was that charging stations were few and far between.
Again, public demand has seen a shift in the awareness of the need for an electrical charging infrastructure. This shift combined with the evolution of additional solutions for home charging stations is making the move to E Vehicles much more feasible.
Personal Charging Stations: Installation costs for a charging station at home that run between $700 – $2000. While that may seem steep, when taking into consideration gasoline savings and provincial incentive rebates, this purchase can still be safely placed in the investment column.
The Clean BC initiative offers homeowners a $300 rebate for installing a level 2 charging station.
Alternatively, there is a private sector initiative that provides full rebates for the purchase of select charging stations. Credits are limited per year, but there is a wait list for upcoming funds.
The concern that there are no sufficient charging stations along your route is rapidly fading as the EV infrastructure expands. Many municipal budgets now include funding for public EV charging stations. As well, large corporate entities like Walmart and Costco often have charging stations on their properties.
